Like any other businesses we have our strengths and challenges. It all started with our time together in the beautiful city of London.
Maryam our “designer sister” as we all call her in the family, has always been our creative one. From designing our outfits to giving me styling advice every single morning even before her coffee all in voluntary basis. She introduced a SLR camera to our lives which changed everything.
In our family, I am very system oriented and an organised person. What else you expect from someone who works at the finance department. I’m sure the other two didn’t appreciate their “make mess now organize later” moments when my OTT moods got out of control. I was always the one looking after the finances and the plans for everything from dinners to bills payments.
Khati our youngest sister who was studying at the London South Bank University wanted to become the next big shot! She loves two things. Wining competitions and posing for the SLR camera for modeling. She is the natural force who can talk the talk and walk the walk.
Living together for 3 years, we slowly discovered our differences, experienced our pleasant and not so pleasant moments and most importantly built the bond, which lead to the company we call “Noqra” today.
Noqra was formed when Maryam finished her design degree and moved to Kabul. We knew that we have very different set of skills that can compliment a common cause. Most importantly, we trusted one another.
Noqra is not only about us but also our talented artisans who make our jewellery. We will write about our Kabul production artisans in our upcoming blogs.
